The women of Japan have been long looked up to for their impeccable skin, beauty and gracious manners. So for that matter its no wonder some of the top beauty brands are Japanese. The latest and most coveted beauty trend have been at home facial treatment masks that are hassle free with instant results. Beauty brands all over the world are catching on with this trend and battling to come up with the next best mask. So here I have tested some of the top brands and came up with some conclusions and reviews.
It came down to a very close call between SK-II’s Facial Treatment Mask ($135 for set of 10) and Tatcha’s Luminous Mask ($96 for set of 4). Both gave results that one cannot get mad at, instant hydration, lifting, and de-bloating. SK-II is a well-known beauty brand that everyone from celebrities, models, to the woman on the go has been talking about. With 5 star reviews and dozens awards and press, SK-II has definitely become a household name that is true to their product and what they deliver. Tatcha is fairly new to the market but has been getting incredible reviews and press from all over for it’s all natural ingredients and amazing results. The fact that all Tatcha products are formulated without parabens, synthetics fragrances, mineral oils, sulfate detergents phthalates and more, gives them a huge plus. We all care what we put on our skin, as that is the body’s largest organ and acts like a sponge. Their treasured ingredients include, Red Algae, Green Tea, Royall Jelly, Ginseng Root, and their signature HADASEI-3 Bioactive Complex. Not all all-natural beauty products give as great results as their not-so-natural competitors, Tatcha, however, really does provide remarkable, money worthy results. With their non-irritating and non-sensitizing ingredients I believe Tatcha wins the prize for best at home mask. The Luminous deep hydration mask truly does act like a mini face-lift in just 15 minutes. I love to use this mask before a big night out or special event as it creates an outstanding base for your makeup in addition to all of the other perks.
The top three eye masks I have found to be worth the money and the time are once again, SK-II’s Signs Eye Mask ($115 for set of 14), Tatcha’s Luminous Eye Mask ($95 set of 10), and Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist 24 eye mask ($63 set of 12). Out of the trio, the SK-II and Tatcha masks seemed to have better revitalization and really pull out any puffiness, dullness, and dark circles as compared to the Shiseido. Although they have their own benefits such as deep hydration and a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, Shiseido is more of a smoothing eye mask. If you really want to target puffiness, dullness and dark circles and are looking for a quick pick me up, I would definitely recommend Tatcha or SK-II. The only difference once again, is that Tatcha is a little more delicate on the skin, as they use non-irriating and non-sensitizing ingredients in their products. Another positive of the Tatcha eye mask is that they use caffeine as an ingredient to really wake up eyes and give you instant luminosity and radiance.
